Nara, Japan 2015 (Day 2) Part II: Nara Deer Park

Continuing from where I left off, we took a train to Nara from JR Umahori Station. Oh! Did I mention that we utilized the subway map and Hyperdia to the max throughout our trip. If it wasn't for Hyperdia, I honestly don't think I would have enjoyed traveling Japan as much.

It took a good 1 hour before we even reached Nara. Also, the one and only reason we went to Nara was to visit the deer park haha! From Nara Station, we walked up Sanjo Dori to Kofuku-ji.

Further up, when you approach the park, you start seeing the deers, just roaming around minding their own business. There are crackers for sale throughout the park, just look for umbrellas with the sign ¥150 and you will be given approximately 10 round crackers.
Deers in Nara are considered sacred. You can see lots of signs to watch out and respect them as they cross the street.

Tip: If you want to make your stash last as long as possible, break the crackers into quarters and feed the deer in smaller pieces.

Word of caution: BE CAREFUL WHEN FEEDING THEM AS THEY CAN GET VERY VERY AGGRESSIVE!
It got pretty dark when we were done feeding the deers, so we decided to walk around Nara and have dinner there as well.

Ending the post with a food haul from Nara.
